Grand Café at 2500 E 2nd St in Reno offers a straightforward full-service dining experience centered on classic American comfort food. Located within the casino complex, it naturally caters to visitors looking for a convenient meal without venturing far from the gaming floors. The atmosphere is lively but practical, often busy with guests either taking a break from the casino or starting their day with a hearty breakfast.

The menu leans heavily into familiar favorites like country fried steak and eggs, ham and cheese omelettes, and a range of sandwiches including their pulled pork and Philly cheesesteak. Portions are generous, matching the no-frills diner-style setting, and prices reflect the convenience and location rather than gourmet ambition. Breakfast items such as the Sierra Slam Combo and various French toasts with fresh fruit toppings are popular choices among early risers and those wanting a filling start before heading out.

Service here tends to be friendly and attentive, though wait times can sometimes be a bit slow, especially during peak hours or busy weekends. The restaurant mitigates any crowding by offering text notifications when tables are ready, allowing diners to explore the casino or nearby areas while they wait. This system is a welcome practical touch in a place that often fills up quickly.

Grand Café suits those who prioritize solid, comforting meals in a convenient spot over a refined dining experience. It works well for casino guests needing a dependable breakfast or lunch and locals in the area who want hearty portions without fuss. Mid-morning through early afternoon tends to be the best time to visit to avoid the longest waits, though patience is rewarded with warm, satisfying food and portions that won’t leave you hungry.

All told, Grand Café feels like a functional, familiar neighborhood eatery embedded in Reno’s casino scene — a place where the food is uncomplicated but consistent, the service is warm albeit occasionally slow, and the crowd is a mix of visitors and locals in need of good, straightforward American classics.

If you're in the casino it's a convenient option. We were seated quickly, food arrived in a timely manner. I had the meatloaf which was just fine for a location of this type. Not world class by any means but it filled the bill

The service was fantastic. The food came out a little slow. No biggie. The food was great! I was a little apprehensive about trying this place out for breakfast at the prices ... Yet, it was actually really yummy. Albeit, pricey for what you get. When I went, it's definitely a higher rating than a 3. I appreciate you guys. Thanks for feeding me!

We've eaten here a few times before when staying at GSR. I'm surprised I never left a review.   This place is usually crowded, and there is always a wait.  The cashier who helped me was nice, and she made sure we had everything we needed from jellies, hot sauce,  and extra napkins. We ordered breakfast to go, and our food was piping hot. 1.  Country fried steak and eggs - I ordered it with over medium eggs and sourdough toast.  At first glance, I was sad and said I should've asked for more gravy.  Then I noticed they placed gravy underneath as well.  Genius.  The country fried steak was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside.  Hash browns were perfectly cooked,  nice, and crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside.  It was perfection. 2.  All American Breakfast Sandwich - This was a "Beast" of a sandwich.  Halfway through, my husband was like, "I'm already full."  Thick slice of ham on the inside and hearty pieces of bacon.   This was perfectly portioned all throughout. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

Sometimes, the wait was long even when the restaurant looked almost empty, which was weird. However, no need to wait in line there. Just gave them my phone number and they sent me a text when my table was ready, so I could go and do other things while waiting. Food was good, with good portions as well and not too overpriced. Server was always fast and attentive to my need. Overall, a great experience there.
